Importance Of Leadership In Social Life And Business

We live in a society that is very collectivist. This means we interact with many people. The people we interact with can be family, neighbors, friends or co-workers. Patrick Alain writes in Leaders Industry Magazine that human beings have a social nature and when they live together, it is natural for them to play different roles. As a result, we interact in different ways with diverse people. We can be either a leader or a follower, depending on the situation.

They unite masses in order to bring about social change. Leaders can also motivate followers to act in a particular way to achieve a common goal. The recent uprising by Pashtuns across the Durand Line, for example, is an excellent example of social leadership that has led to change in favor of equality and justice.

Overall, leaders are essential in our daily lives to bring about positive change, encourage people to contribute, establish order, promote unity and inspire followers.

Innovation is essential for business success. It is hard to keep up with the rapid changes that are happening in the business world today. For a business to be efficient, profitable and differentiating from its competitors it needs to innovate constantly to meet customer demands. In his paper on A Conceptual Framework of Innovation and Performance, Jeffrey Overall of the University of Nipissing argues that innovation is driven by leadership. It is essential to have affective leaders to create an innovative culture in the organization, motivate employees to take part, develop skills and boost performance. Employee loyalty is more likely to occur when the relationship between the leader and the employees is valued by the entire organizational hierarchy.

Affective leadership also builds morale and encourages action. Effective leaders will likely help businesses achieve their goals and objectives.

I believe management and leadership should work together in order to achieve the goals and objective of an institution. It is difficult to run an organization without the help of a good leader. Management’s job is to mobilize resources such as human resources and finances to produce the best services and products and achieve the desired goals. The goals of a business will also be met when employees are motivated, trusting their management and cash is invested into the right products or projects. In order to create an organizational culture, management must have the right leadership skills.

World Health Organization’s Operations Manual for Their Staff defines leadership in terms of “creating vision”, while management is defined as “getting something done through balanced participation of the people” (WHO. 2010). Management is about taking decisions. These decisions need to be efficient, effective, economic, and promote equity.

In conclusion, leadership is a key component of creating a new vision and executing goals to reach the vision.

Every workplace has a hierarchy or chain of command. Organizational structure is used to manage relationships. Leading individuals to manage relationships in the workplace is a key aspect of managing their relationship. By illustrating a difference between a great leader and a terrible leader, it will be clear how important leadership is in the workplace.

They are also clear on what they need to do. Good leaders are clear about what needs to be done. A bad manager will confuse subordinates. They will also have unclear directions. A good leader will inspire others and get results. A bad manager lacks the ability to inspire others and has little creativity.

To summarize, it is essential to develop leaders who can guide a business to success.

Only 26% of the traits that make up leadership can be attributed to genetics. All the rest are learned skills. If students learn how to lead effectively during their school days, it makes me believe that they develop an appreciation for these skills throughout their lifetime.

Moreover, it’s important for them to learn leadership skills in order to develop good relationships, teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills. The experience students gain from being put in a leadership role, encouraging, motivating, taking decisions, and creating trust between team members will last them a life time.

We all interact with people in our society. Some of them serve as leaders and help us with our daily tasks. Local shuras (or elders) are able to coordinate community activities, resolve disputes, and make decisions in their name. The importance of leadership is also shown by the way a group of people in government represent a community. Their leadership is what will determine how a community will develop. A community that is led by a corrupt Shura leader or one who has no regard for the benefits of their community will be uninspired. If a Shura leader is corrupt or indifferent to the community’s benefits, this will affect that community.

Great leaders have made history. Martin Luther King, a black civil rights activist and leader of that time, changed how society saw them. Nelson Mandela was the South African antiapartheid revolutionary. Nelson Mandela fought for justice and equality in a society that had been dominated by institutionalized segregation. Great leaders like Nelson Mandela are examples that show the importance of a good leader in a social setting.

Leaders are those who inspire others to act, learn, and perform better. A leader is someone who accepts the majority of blame and does not let their team feel defeated in crisis situations. I value leadership in all its forms. When we’re in the presence a leader we trust, respect and feel comfortable with, we feel energized, motivated and eager to achieve more.
